About Us

The Erris Peninsula is an area of unspoiled natural beauty with fantastic Blue Flag golden sandy beaches.

The Peninsula is about 33 km in length and 12 km wide at the widest points, narrowing to about 400 metres in the region of Elly Bay popular for Wind and Kite Surfing. The trip from Belmullet to Blacksod Point (21 km) gives a good understanding of the nature of the Peninsula its west coast, exposed to the Atlantic Surf, while the east overlooks the inlet of Blacksod Bay with views to Achill Island.

Erris is the perfect area for walkers,fantasic scenery for the keen hiker or simply just admiring the suroundings. Another attraction is an 18-hole championship links golf course at Carne,west of Belmullet.

Eagle Island is a popular diving spot.The Sea-Angling competitions in June and August are very popular with over 20 different species of fish caught.

The islands of Inishkea are well-known bird sanctuaries and boat trips can be arranged locally.The Mullet Peninsula is a Gaeltacht area where the Irish Language is still spoken and provide a rich heritage of traditional music, song and dance in local bars.
